Because when you develop relationships with product creators, you're going to find out about new products before anybody else. This gives you an advantage when selling these products because you're getting the word out before anybody else. So it is CRITICAL to become friends with product creators.
Now, once you've made the relationship and get sneak peeks into products, you can then review those products before anybody else gets a chance to. When you do this and post the review up on your blog, making sure you use the keywords that relate to the product itself, you're going to get traffic before anybody else does simply because you're one of the few people out there with reviews of the product. I got a look at a new product in the real estate niche and because of it, I got traffic before other people did. Again, it comes down to relationships.
Another thing Willie talked about is leakage. This is anything on the sales page that distracts the customer such as links to other sites. You want to make sure that the sales page you're sending people to doesn't have any leakage, especially if the page has links to their affiliate program. You're sending somebody to a Clickbank sales page and the person sees they can sign up as an affiliate and buy the product from their own link. This kills your sales. Another thing you don't want is alternative payment methods that also cheat you out of your commissions.
